Why you cannot publish or email members yet
What the "in setup" and "sending isn't switched on" messages mean, and the one step that opens everything.
Two different messages can stop you, and they have different causes.
"Your club is still in setup"
A club that has not subscribed yet is in setup. In setup you can:
- import and edit your members,
- set up levels and dues,
- write newsletters and preview them,
- preview your website,
- send a test email to your own address.
In setup you cannot publish the website, email your members, invite another officer or connect a web address. Each of those is refused with one sentence that names the single next step: subscribe on the plan page.
The moment the payment goes through, the club is switched on by itself. You do not need to tell anyone or wait for anyone. The same button you were refused a minute ago will work.
"Sending to members isn't switched on for this service yet"
This is a separate message, and it is not about your club. Clubroll as a whole starts with email restricted to a short list of approved addresses, so that no club's mail can go out before the service is ready for it. While that is so, you can write and preview your messages, but your members will not receive them, even if your club has paid.
You cannot change this yourself. When Clubroll opens email for every club, the grey bar disappears from the top of your pages and the Dues page says "Email is switched on for this service."
Which one am I seeing?
- A bar that says "Your club is in setup" is about your subscription. Subscribing fixes it.
- A bar that says sending is not switched on is about the service. Subscribing does not change it, and nothing you do will.
If your club has paid and you still see the setup bar, sign out and in again. If it is still there, tell us.
