Schedule a newsletter for later
How to choose a day and time, what is checked when it goes out, and how to cancel or change it.
You can write an issue now and have it go out later, for example at eight on Thursday morning, when you will not be at your computer.
Schedule it
On the composer, under Send later, choose a day and time, choose the time zone that time is in, and press Schedule it. The time zone picker starts from your browser's zone and remembers the last one your club used. Daylight saving is handled: a time that never happens (the hour that is skipped in spring) is refused with the way out, and a time that happens twice (autumn) means the first.
The issue now shows as scheduled and is locked, so nobody changes the text under you.
Who receives it
Who gets it is worked out when it goes out, not when you scheduled it. Everything is checked again then: someone who unsubscribes between now and then does not get it, someone who has bounced since is left out, and a new member who agreed is included. The rules for caps and holds are applied then too.
It goes once
A job sends each due issue once. A restart, a second process or two ticks at once cannot send it twice. If the service was off at the time, the issue goes at the next minute. If it was found half-sent for 30 minutes, it is not sent again; it is marked failed with a note to check the send log.
Change your mind
Press Cancel the schedule and the issue is a draft again, to edit. You can cancel until the moment sending starts.
If it is refused at send time
If something stops it (your club's sending is paused, a daily cap, or the club's subscription), the issue is left as a draft with the reason written on it. See email health and sending limits for new clubs.
One thing to know
You cannot schedule while the club is in setup or while sending is not switched on for the service. You get the usual sentence explaining the next step.
