Households and family memberships
How one dues line can cover a couple or a family, who pays, and how to name the other people.
A household level covers more than one person on a single dues line. One member is the payer. The others are named on the line, and nobody is charged twice.
Create a household level
On Membership levels, add a level and set People on one dues line to more than one: 2 for a couple, 4 for a family. The starter examples include a Household level that holds up to four people. Give it its own price.
Put people on it
- Give the paying member the household level: open their dues page and press Set level.
- On the same page, under Add a person, choose another member of the club from the list and press Add to the line. The people you name must already be on the roll.
- To take someone off, press Remove beside their name.
A named person does not get a dues line of their own. Their member page says they are named on the payer's household line, which pays for them. The line is limited to the number you set; a household level for four people holds the payer and three more.
What happens to reminders and payments
The payer is the one who receives dues reminders and who pays. Recording a payment on the household line settles it for everyone on it. A named person still appears on the roll as a member of the club, and keeps their own consent choices for the newsletter.
Changing levels
If the household becomes a single membership, change the payer's level. The difference is written on the line as an adjustment with your name, and a line already paid in full that now asks for less shows a credit rather than being quietly rewritten. See change a member's level or renewal date.
Limits
Clubroll records the household as one line with named people. It does not split a payment between the people on it.
