The status page: is Clubroll working right now?
What the status page checks, what green and red mean, and why it never shows anything about a club or a person.
When a page will not open or an email seems late, the first question is whether the problem is yours or ours. The Status page, linked from the help centre, answers it in one line.
What you see
At the top there is one sentence, in green or red, with a tick or an exclamation mark so that it does not depend on colour alone:
- All working means everything below is fine.
- A problem means something is not, with a sentence saying what is affected.
Below it is a short table of what was checked: that the service answers requests, that its records can be read, and that scheduled work is running on time. Under Scheduled work each task is listed with when it last ran. These are the jobs behind dues reminders, scheduled newsletters, payment checks and the like.
What red means for you
- If the records cannot be read, pages may fail to open. Nothing is lost.
- If scheduled work is late or failing, pages still work, but some emails, reminders or payment checks may be delayed. Nothing is skipped for good: a late job runs when it can.
What the page does not show
Nothing about any club, member, email address or payment. It is the same for everyone, so you can open it without signing in, even while you cannot sign in.
For a monitor
The same facts are at /status.json in a form a monitoring tool can read. It answers with an ordinary success when all is working and an error status when it is not.
If the page says all working
The page looks at Clubroll as a whole, not at one club. If your own club's page does not open, or a member says they cannot reach your site, tell us which club and what you see.
